On November 12, 2023, an online ceremony was held where Dr. Jaap van der Wal, MD PhD was one of five people inducted into the 'Hall of Honor of Prenatal Science'. Here is the transcript of Dr. Jaap van der Wal's Award Talk: Hall of Honor Award Talk TEXT FOR PUBLICATION JvdW 2023-11-12.

Jaap van der Wal, MD PhD

Jaap van der Wal PhD MD is a physician and until his retirement in 2012, he worked as an assistant professor of anatomy and embryology at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. After his medical training in 1973, he specialized in postural and musculoskeletal functional anatomy with (later) emphasis on the architecture of connective tissue and fascia and its role in proprioception. Gradually he developed as a teacher in in philosophy of science and medical anthropology. "However, my passion was and still is human embryology. The human body is a process that develops and functions over time. The embryo moves and behaves in forms. It was in this field that I encountered Goethe's phenomenological approach. I apply the dynamic morphological method to understand what we actually do as human beings when we are embryos. With all due respect, I find in the embryo tentative answers to questions about the SIGNIFICANCE of human existence."

After his retirement in 2012, he devoted himself fully to Dynamension, a worldwide project to teach Embryosophy. Check out his website: www.embryo.nl. He now teaches his "Embryosophy" mainly in Europe and the USA on courses for craniosacral therapy, osteopathy, polarity therapy but the courses are also open to prenatal psychologists and trauma therapists and S(omatic)E(experience) practitioners and so on. The courses,the seminars and webinars are inspired by Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy and are open to all who search for spirit AND body in man with an open mind: building bridges between science and spirituality.

REGISTRATION

Notification of interest: Send your notification directly to Ming or to one of our coordinators, enter your details (name, phone number, address and possibly organization number).

The registration is verified and approved: when you have received an invoice from Ming/Spånga Friskvård Hälsocenter or from the coordinator you have chosen. Invoicing takes place in January-February 2024 or after notification has been received.

The registration is confirmed: when you have paid the invoice and received a confirmation email, which also has the link to the ZOOM meeting for the seminar.

For this special occasion, Dr. Jaap van der Wal's valuable seminar in Stockholm, the following registration and cancellation rules apply:

- Notification of interest is made to Ming or one of the coordinators: the notification is listed according to the date when the notification of interest was received, which is also the order of priority based on which the invoices are sent. The place at the seminar is confirmed when the invoice has been paid and a confirmation email has been received.

- No early bird offer. Instead, we encourage registration when you feel more confident about your attendance at the seminar. However, you can still cancel your secured place (paid) until the seminar starts, with a fixed administrative cost of SEK 600 (EURO 60).

PAYMENT

The fee for the seminar SEK 6995 (estimated EURO 699) is paid in SEK according to the invoice, can be made via Bankgiro or Swish in Sweden, and International bank transfer from abroad.

Options for coffee and lunch at the museum's restaurant during the days of the seminar will be available to order in advance. See separately the section under 'Options'.

RULES AT THE MUSEUM COURSE ROOM

You can bring a water bottle (which can be closed tightly) to the course room.

You can bring your own drink, coffee and lunch. Around the museum there are nice places to eat. You will also be able to sit and eat inside the museum's auditorium, where the seminar takes place. However, you may not eat on the museum's restaurant patio :). It is also possible to pre-order food/coffee via the museum's restaurant, see under options below. We want your food/coffee order by 23 May at the latest :)

In connection with this seminar, several optional activities are organized which give the participant the opportunity to meet more, see more of Stockholm, enjoy entertainment and share experiences.

Coffee and lunch at the Museum's restaurant, Thursday-Sunday 6-9 June, Lunch and coffee (morning and afternoon) can be pre-ordered from the museum's restaurant Matmekka. If you want to buy lunch/coffee from Matmekka, we recommend that you pre-order. This is because the restaurant cannot guarantee that they can serve food/coffee to everyone if it is not pre-ordered. Matmekka offers two dishes to pre-order for lunch, one of which is gluten-free and vegan. Coffee (coffee/tea) can be pre-ordered with or without coffee bread.
